To Die Among Strangers
2009 saw the release of one of ROME's most important oeuvres to date: 'Flowers From Exile'. This seminal album was introduced to ROME's evergrowing fanbase with the teaser single 'To Die Among Strangers', whose digipak edition sold out weeks before its actual release, proving the fact that ROME had already gained a considerable following at the time. In addition to the ongoing and long anticipated re-release of earlier ROME albums on vinyl, this long-out-of-print item will now be available as a white vinyl 10", enhanced with additional artwork, in a strictly limited edition of 500 copies only.
This record features the single and title track 'To Die Among Strangers', which introduced the theme of war and exile of 'Flowers From Exile', as well remixes of earlier classics 'Reversion' and 'Wir Götter der Stadt', and the extra long dark ambient collage 'Mourir A Madrid'.
ROME have found a unique and authentic approach to making music by combining fine poetry, (post)apocalyptic folk music, industrial collages with the tristesse of post-punk and have thus created a style distinctly of their own.
