In 2021, Luxembourg's Finest THE SKINFLICKS said ‘I hate Hipsters’. Now they are about to tell you WHY!

The new single ‘Gentrified For Your Sins’ marks the beginning of a new chapter for the band. The song is not only another rocking smasher by the four boys from Luxembourg, it also features their trademark cynical lyrics, full of dark humour and bleak realism.

You can see it in any major city: the poor get pushed out of their low-rent neighbourhoods to make room for pop-up stores and overpriced coffee shops where old family businesses used to be. Wanna-be bohemians move in by the dozen to "upgrade" the old parts of town and raising the costs of living so that none of the old inhabitants who actually built it all can afford the rents any longer. This gentrification, largely pushed forward by the Hipster crowd admonishes the coup-de-grace to what little was left of original working-class culture.

THE SKINFLICKS, never shying away from sharp-tongued social commentary, wrap the harsh facts of gentrification up in bitterly funny lyrics, full of abrasive humour.

The B-side features ‘New Media Men’, another new song, reminiscent of 80-ies streetpunk. Lyric-wise, the song extends the social commentary towards the media, governing and guiding the digital hive mind as never before.

All in all, ‘Gentrified For Your Sins’, is another challenging SKINFLICKS, release - chock full of rocking tunes with plenty of problematic lyrics to keep you on your toes.
