Just in time for Christmas, good old Santa got drunk and didn’t quite know what to get you street punk kids as Christmas prezzies, but then he stumbled upon these rare and unreleased songs from before the ‘Beyond Good and evil’ album was released.
At the end of winter of 2001/2002, THE SKINFLICKS were playing a gig in Germany when they were offered the opportunity to record a couple of demo songs for their upcoming album. Since the new material was slightly faster than the songs on the first EP, as well as on their first album ‘Lies, Damned Lies and Skinhead Stories’, the band took the opportunity to test them out like this.
So, Santa, in his drunken stupor, realizing the unreleased gem he just found in the attic, spat on the tape and polished it up to shine again, so that he can now present them to you, to be listened to for the first time ever.
The A side presents the anthemic ‘Hold On’, a song that was surely determined to be one of the hits of the then upcoming album, while the flipside brings you the angry ‘The Hatred Within’, a song which the band might have underestimated at the time, but which has become a favourite to many a fan, ever since.
So, deck the halls, cum all ye children and enjoy these two unpolished, un-released street punk gems!
